Baldeón began studying at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia in 1979, although he left before graduating. In 1987-1988 he won a scholarship at Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. His career as an artist developed between New York, Madrid and Cuenca, where he is currently teaching in the School of Fine Arts at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha.

In the 1980s, his production evolved from its initial surrealist underpinnings to figurative expressionism and gestural painting, and then veered towards
in the 1990s.

In 1990 he created a body of work consisting of pieces made of cellophane and translucent glass, creating fascinating effects. Later he began a series of interiors which engaged in a reflection on space itself, first in an intimate manner with empty interiors, and later with the interiors of the homes of American collectors, examining the artworks hanging on the walls. He has also used photography to create his series.
