A highly influential artist in Spain’s contemporary art scene, Mariano de Blas graduated in 1980 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts from Madrid’s Universidad Complutense.

In 1982 he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to complete an MA in Fine Arts at Parsons School, New York.

His work has seen in London, Stuttgart and New York, and he has taken part in over one hundred group shows in Spain and abroad.

At present, he is a teacher at the Department of Painting in the School of Fine Arts in Madrid.
