Candaudap graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Bilbao in 1988 and that same year he also obtained a scholarship from the Fundación Rodríguez - Acosta in Granada. His first solo exhibitions were held at Galerie de la Rue-en-pente in Bayonne and in Igorre, where he held an exhibition titled Visión - Estado de excepción in 1990. His practice is based on an accumulative process that tends to view the surface of the work as a repository on which to store the “remnants” of a fragile and volatile memory, and a reworking of the image that turns the discourse upside down. The sense of loss of emotional intensity brings to mind the influence of artists such as Rodchenko, Vertov, Marinetti and Lekuona.
