20th-21st Century Spanish

Creator of truly modern sculptures, Ginestar found in the process of construction the best way of expressing and showcasing the methods he builds his work on.

Ginestar studied in Paris, first Fine Arts at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and later Visual Arts at the Université Paris 8.

Ginestar engages with a new attitude that lends value to a geometric order rooted in
—influenced by Picasso’s sculpture—in which the artist opts for formal precision yet at the same time transcending Minimalism by adopting figurative references. Particularly important in his sculpture is the presence of iron, with assembled irregular cuts, forming lines that create a play of contrasts between fullness and emptiness.

Ginestar began to exhibit his work in 1985, primarily in Paris. He has also taken part in many group exhibitions, including many editions of the ARCO art fair in Madrid.
