Author's artworks
20th-21st Century Spanish

Hernández started studying at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts, though he soon abandoned his training and started experimenting with iron on his own.

His major influences can be found in the sculptors Julio González (1876-1942) and Pablo Gargallo (1881-1934). The highly personal quality of his works earned him a place in the vanguard of 20th century Spanish sculpture, along with major artists like Martín Chirino (1925-2019).

His sculptures have been exhibited in Bilbao, Madrid, and at the biennials of Paris, São Paulo and Venice.
