A member of the Danish School, Pryn lived in Bagsvaerd, near Copenhagen, where he earned a reputation as a landscapist and engraver.

A self-taught artist, he would eventually be considered one of the best landscape artists of his time. His prestige continues to grow apace today as does the value of his works, which are highly sought after in auctions.
