Sycet is a highly versatile practitioner. Indeed, he is not only a painter, but also a designer and a lyricist for Spanish bands from the Movida, the Madrid-based 1980s counterculture movement. His academic training took place in New York thanks to a scholarship from the Joint Spanish-American Committee he obtained in the late 1980s. He founded Ciudad Diseño with Julio Juste, with whom he exhibited on many occasions. In spite of his connections with
, his idealism is lyrical and colourist and never too far removed from figuration. His painting reflects his dream-like fantasies as well as an engagement with matter that marks his latest works.
